“What Hub AR Shelf is, how placing models in your room works and who the phone shelf suits.”

Hub AR Shelf is a shelf of models you browse on your phone and place in the room you are standing in. You look through pictures, pick a model, and put it in the real space your phone shows.

This post explains what Hub AR Shelf is, how it works and who it suits. It is coming soon on aeternusvita.io. You can get notified from the product page when it is ready.

What Hub AR Shelf is

Hub AR Shelf is described as "Browse aeternusvita.io models on your phone and place them in the room." The subtitle is "Place a model in the room".

The Play copy gives the full idea in one paragraph: "Hub AR Shelf runs on your phone. It is a shelf of models from aeternusvita.io. You browse the shelf by its pictures, choose a model, and place that model in the room you are standing in."

It is not a game with levels or scores. It is a shelf you browse by pictures. The shelf holds models from aeternusvita.io. You choose a picture, then you use your phone to put that model in the room.

Each visit starts from the same place. The brief says: "Each visit starts from the same shelf. The pictures let you look through the models before you put one in the room. You pick a picture, then you place the model." You always return to the same set of pictures before you place.

Hub AR Shelf is made by aeternusvita.io. The copy closes that loop plainly: "Browse the shelf, choose a model, and put it in the room."

The shelf: browse by pictures

The shelf is the start and the way you choose. Every model has a picture on the shelf.

The feature list names this first: Browse models from aeternusvita.io, and A picture of each model on the shelf.

You do not type a name or scroll a list of files. You look through pictures. The pictures let you look through the models before you place one. You can take your time, compare what you see, and pick the model you want to try in the room.

That browsing step is the same every time. You browse by pictures, choose a model, and place it. If you want a different one, you go back to the pictures and choose again.

There is no extra catalogue layer described on disk. The shelf, the pictures and the models are the structure.

Placing a model in your room

Once you have chosen a picture, you place that model in the room you are standing in.

The Play copy says: "The model appears in front of you, in the real space the phone shows."

You are not placing it on a separate background. You place it where you stand, in the view your phone gives you of the room. The model sits in that view, so you see it against what is already there.

The step is simple on purpose. You pick a picture, then you place the model. The brief repeats that because it is the whole interaction: pick, then place.

Hub AR Shelf runs on your phone, so placement happens through the phone camera view. You do not need a headset or a controller. You use the phone you already have to put the model where you are.

Walking around and judging size

After you place it, you can move.

The Play copy says: "You can move around it and judge the size against a table, a shelf or the floor." The feature list puts it as Walk around the model on your phone and See it against the real furniture.

On the shelf a model is a picture. In the room you can judge size. You can step to the side, see it from another angle, and compare it with a table, a shelf or the floor.

Those three examples — table, shelf, floor — are the ones given on disk. Most rooms have at least one of them. If you are wondering whether a model would fit on a surface or how tall it would stand, you can see it there.

You walk around the model on your phone. You move yourself, and the phone view moves with you, so the model stays where you placed it while you look from another side.

Return to the shelf and place another

When you want a different model, you go back.

The Play copy says: "When you want a different model, you go back to the pictures and place another." The feature list ends the same way: Return to the shelf and place another.

That back-and-forth is the loop. Shelf, picture, place, walk around, return. Each time you return you are at the same starting shelf. You pick another picture and place that model in the same way.

This makes comparison easy. You can place one model, see how it sits against your furniture, go back, place another and judge that one in the same spot. Because each visit starts from the same shelf, the choice stays consistent.

Where it runs

Hub AR Shelf is a phone app. The brief lists the platforms as Web and iphone-web.

The brief says "Hub AR Shelf runs on your phone" and the template is iphone-ar with a kit-three web build. The web build is hosted, and the iPhone smoke test is recorded as pass.

For stores, the brief is clear that nothing has been submitted:

  • Google Play: n/a — needs Capacitor wrapper first
  • Meta Horizon: n/a
  • SideQuest: n/a
  • itch.io: needs account — package ready: HTML5 zip

The way to follow it today is through the site, not a store page. The product page on aeternusvita.io lists it as Coming soon. That is the status on disk: hosted web build, not yet packaged for Play or wrapped for iOS, no submission. The page to watch is Hub AR Shelf.

Who it suits

Hub AR Shelf suits you if you want to browse models from aeternusvita.io without opening a separate 3D tool.

It suits you if you like to judge things by seeing them in place. A picture does not tell you much about height or footprint. Placing the model and seeing it against real furniture does. If you often wonder how something would look on a table, on a shelf or on the floor, that walk-around view is the part you will use most.

It suits you if you want a short, low-setup try-out. Each visit starts from the same shelf. You browse pictures, pick one, place it. There is no account step and no separate level to learn. You can try one model, go back, try another.

It suits you if you use your phone as the main way you look at things. The features are described in phone terms: browse on your phone, place in your room, walk around on your phone.

It does not suit you if you are looking for editing, animation or a game loop. None of those are in the Play copy. The six features are all about browsing, placing and returning to the shelf. This post stays with that list and does not add more.

Coming soon — get notified

Hub AR Shelf is coming soon on aeternusvita.io. It is listed as Coming soon on the product page.

If you want to know when it is ready, use the notify option on the product page: Hub AR Shelf. You will be told there when there is news, without a countdown or a claim about a date that has not been set.

There is no price, release date, rating or review to quote because nothing has been submitted or released. The brief lists release date as not decided, ratings and reviews as none, and price as not final. The Play copy's whats new line says "First release" and that is the only release note on disk.

The description to remember is the short one: Browse aeternusvita.io models on your phone and place them in the room. Choose a picture on the shelf, place the model where you stand, walk around it and see it against your table, shelf or floor, then return to the shelf and place another.
